- Covers: SafeWork NSW High Risk Work Licence requirements, practical assessment and theory examination

- Outcome: SafeWork NSW WP High Risk Work Licence
VOC
Verification of Competency
- Who needs it: Licensed operators who need machine-specific competency documentation for a site or audit
- Covers: Practical assessment on the specific EWP type, documentation of competency for site records
- Location: Smeaton Grange facility or on your site
- Outcome: Signed VOC record, formatted for site WHS management systems
Working at Heights
Fall Arrest & Rescue
- Who needs it: Any worker operating at height, including EWP operators and site personnel in elevated areas
- Covers: Fall protection systems, harness fitting and inspection, fall arrest, emergency descent and rescue procedures
- Location: Smeaton Grange facility or your site via accredited affiliates
- Outcome: Working at Heights certificate, documented and signed off

At our Smeaton Grange facility
Training sessions run at the Want Access yard at 35 Anzac Ave, Smeaton Grange. Operators train on real machines in a real yard environment. Practical and theory components completed on the day, certification issued on completion.

For larger crews or sites where sending operators to Smeaton Grange isn't practical, training can be delivered on your site through Want Access accredited affiliate trainers. Training is booked around your site program and work schedule.

High Risk Work Licences
EWP operation at or above 11m requires a SafeWork NSW High Risk Work Licence (WP). A Yellow Card alone is not sufficient above 11m working height.
PCBU Duty of Care
The PCBU is responsible for ensuring operators are trained and competent. Documented certification is the minimum standard required to satisfy that duty under WHS legislation.
Tier 1 Site Requirements
Principal contractors on Tier 1 programs routinely audit operator certifications at induction. Undocumented operators are turned away at the gate. Want Access training prevents that outcome.
Incident Liability
In the event of a workplace incident involving an EWP, the first thing SafeWork NSW examines is operator certification records. Gaps in documentation expose the PCBU to improvement notices, fines and prosecution.

Training runs from 35 Anzac Ave, Smeaton Grange – the same yard where Want Access equipment is maintained and dispatched. Operators train on the actual machines they’ll be using on site.

Real equipment
Operators train on the same EWP brands available in the Want Access hire fleet. Practical training on scissor lifts, boom lifts and vertical lifts at the Smeaton Grange yard.

No fixed class schedule. Sessions are booked around your site program. If you need a crew trained before a hire starts, call 9603 8883 and we'll make it work.
Documentation supplied
Training records are supplied in a format suitable for site WHS files, Tier 1 audits and principal contractor induction requirements. Not just a certificate - a record.
