Booked two scissor lifts on a Thursday afternoon for a Friday morning start. Both landed on site before 7am with the pre-delivery inspection, function test and compliance certs already in the cab - saved my supervisor an hour of paperwork chasing.

FAQ

Before you enquire

What is a vertical lift and how does it differ from a scissor lift?

A vertical lift (also called a mast lift or personnel lift) is a single-person compact access machine designed for tight indoor spaces. Unlike scissor lifts, vertical lifts have a much smaller footprint, lighter weight and narrower width — making them suitable for corridors, retail spaces and sensitive floor environments where scissor lifts cannot fit or are too heavy.
Push-around models are manually moved when in the lowered position — lighter, simpler and lower cost. Self-propelled models have powered drive for repositioning without leaving the platform. If you’re moving the lift frequently or working across a large area, self-propelled is more efficient. For shorter-duration jobs in one area, push-around is usually sufficient.
Some models are rated for outdoor use on firm, level hardstand surfaces. Indoor-only models with non-marking tyres are not suitable for outdoor terrain. Call 9603 8883 and we’ll confirm which models suit your site conditions.
Models fitted with non-marking tyres are designed to protect polished concrete, tiles and finished flooring. All Want Access vertical lifts are confirmed non-marking before dispatch. If your site has specific floor protection requirements, let us know when you enquire.
Sydney metro hires typically land within 48 hours of a confirmed order. Urgent same-day and next-day requests are handled case-by-case. Call 9603 8883 and we’ll tell you straight.
Every hire includes pre-delivery inspection records, compliance certificate, risk assessment and SWMS templates. Documentation is formatted to pass Tier 1 audit. Additional compliance documents are available on request.
Call the 24/7 mechanical support line. A Field Service Technician is dispatched to assess. Repaired on site where possible, swapped same-day where not. You don’t pay for downtime caused by our equipment.
Vertical lifts under 11m working height generally require a Yellow Card (EWP under 11m). Platforms at or above 11m require a WP Licence. Want Access offers in-house training at our Smeaton Grange facility. Call 9603 8883 to book.
